THE SOUNDER SOUND MIXTAPE 2 – HIP HOP HOORAY
It’s been 30 years since Eric B. and Rakim’s seminal debut album Paid In Full was released. This issue we celebrate the influential record and the golden age of music it was part of. To quote Mele Mel of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, “The original concept of hip hop was to find something hip and hop on it.” KRS1 formerly of Boogie Down Productions argues hip hop is about that but more – it’s about “self-awareness, consciousness, power and expression.” The Sounder thinks it’s about all of the above. This is our second playlist for you then – full of sunshine beats, love and original rap badness. We expect to see you breakin’ in your bedrooms, offices and down the street. Click here and listen loud.
